Chhattisgarh Sacred & Scenic Trail

Upon arrival at Jagdalpur Airport from Hyderabad, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. In the late afternoon, proceed for an excursion to the magnificent Chitrakote Waterfalls, located approximately 38 km away and reached by a scenic drive of about 45-50 minutes. Popularly known as the “Niagara of India,” this horse-shoe-shaped waterfall on the Indravati River is the widest in the country. The golden-hour view of cascading water and mist offers a breathtaking experience. After sightseeing, return to the hotel. Overnight stay in Jagdalpur.

After breakfast, proceed for a day excursion to Dantewada, located around 80 km from Jagdalpur, with a travel time of approximately 2 hours by road. Visit the sacred Danteshwari Devi Temple, one of the 52 Shaktipeeths of India and the ancestral deity of the Bastar Royal family. On the return journey, visit Kanger Valley National Park and explore the beautiful Teerathgarh Waterfalls, where water cascades down over 100 feet in multiple tiers amidst lush forest surroundings. After sightseeing, drive back to Jagdalpur. Overnight stay in Jagdalpur.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed towards Raipur. The journey covers approximately 300 km and takes about 5.5 to 6 hours by road. En route, visit Rajim, known as the “Prayag of Chhattisgarh,” located at the holy confluence of the Mahanadi, Pairi, and Sondur rivers. Explore the ancient 7th-century Rajiv Lochan Temple. Continue with a short drive to Champaran, the birthplace of Saint Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya. After completing the visits, continue your journey to Raipur. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Overnight stay in Raipur.

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to Dongargarh, located around 110 km from Raipur, with a travel time of approximately 2 hours via four-lane highway. Visit the revered Maa Bamleshwari Devi Temple, situated atop a hill at an altitude of about 1,600 feet. Ascend to the temple by ropeway, enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. After darshan and sightseeing, return to Raipur in the evening. Overnight stay in Raipur.

After breakfast, proceed towards Ratanpur, located approximately 120 km from Raipur, with a journey time of around 2.5 hours. Visit the historic Mahamaya Devi Temple, an important 11th-century Shaktipeeth and a significant religious and architectural landmark from the Kalachuri era. After darshan, drive back to Raipur (120 km / approx. 2.5 hours) to reach in time for your scheduled 9-15 PM flight back to Hyderabad, marking the end of your spiritual and scenic Chhattisgarh journey.
